So . . . one day in November, we decided to do some sightseeing (just like we've
been busy doing since moving to the East coast). It was sooooooo cold, we
decided to take a break from playing tourist until spring.
On that fateful day, we went to southern Vermont to Brigham Young's birthplace. Brrrrr.
The view from the house where Brigham Young was born. It's hard to imagine how
people survived in this cold, cruel place over a hundred years ago.
Robert Frost's grave in Bennington, Vermont. I drag the family to all my literature spots. :)
Bennington Battle Monument
Robert Frost Stone House Museum in Shaftsbury, Vermont. Robert Frost
has a bunch of farms, but this one is about an hour from our house.
Now we mostly stay indoors.
Eden likes to read books on the couch. She's just like me!!!
Playing INSIDE
Joseph Smith birthplace at Christmastime
Bennett and I made lots of crafts before Christmas, like this Olaf we made out of a sock.
We went with some friends to the Calvin Coolidge birthplace less than an hour
from our house. It was a snowy but rather warm day.
We had fun taking a sleigh ride through the fields where Calvin Coolidge grew up!
Bennett hanging out on the snowbanks while I shoveled.
She is such a cheeser!
This is how you stay warm in Vermont. You have to decide
whether you want to have use of your arms or be warm.
Christmas Day was so much fun this year! Eden is old enough now that she enjoyed
the festivities. She was excited about this doll she got from Grandma Achatz.
Bennett counted down the days til Christmas impatiently. Every morning, he had fun finding our elf Lucy in her new spot. I love his enthusiasm and how much he believes in Santa.
He loves this book and bear from Grandma Bagshaw. They are perfect for him!
Eden doodling on Christmas Day. This toy broke soon after this picture was taken hahaha.
Eden holding still!!!
Playing with a new toy at the park after Christmas.
I love love love when they sit and read together!
Bennett sharing snacks with little sister.
If you're happy . . .
