I know, I know, I like never post on our blog. Here are a few reasons I never post: 1. We don’t have kids to blog about, so that seriously cuts down on blog-worthy events or cuteness. 2. We don’t have time to blog about anything, and 3. We don’t have time to do anything to blog about. Oh, and 4. Blogger is a serious non-user-friendly pain! I could probably think of about 23 more things, but those are the big winners.
A few weeks (or months? I don’t know – I lose track) ago, Ryan’s mom and little (big) brother Josh came to visit us. It was a big deal because we never have visitors. Aside from their pet dog, Zeke, peeing in my house at least three times, we had a great time. Sorry Zeke – I like you, I just don’t like your poo.
On their first night in town, we were babysitting my nephews, so we went to the park so the dog and the boys (all of them) could run around. We took some kites, too, but only the bigger boys were interested in that. Zeke got all the attention. Cole was darling as he chased the little pup around. Actually, I’m certain I think anything Cole does is darling.

The next day, we drove up to Idaho City to check it out. The only time Ryan and I had been was late one night in January when I ran him up there for a scout jamboree (winter camping is something I will never understand or embrace). Patti and Walt love old ghost towns and have frequented lots on their motorcycle trips. Idaho City didn’t make her best ex-city’s list, but we had fun anyway.
Later, Patti took us to dinner (yum!), and I watched a dog movie. Yes, I let a dog sleep in my house and watched a movie about canines. I guess marriage really is about compromise. But no, I will not spring for a dog of our own ever. But the in-laws can come again. They’re house-trained.
