Although our time off was short because of Ryan's job, we were able to visit both our families for Christmas this year. We started at my Grandma Burgess's casa in Pocatello on Christmas Eve, where we got a YUMMY organic meal and met Earl, Grandma's bff. Mom and Dad Bagshaw came from Soda, too, to enjoy the fairer Pocatello weather :). We stayed at my brother Spencer's house that night and waited for Santa to come. I guess Mr. Claus decided we'd been good enough (or he felt sorry for us), so he stopped by while we were having visions of sugarplums (?) dancing through our heads.
Later on Christmas Day, we made the treacherous drive to Logan to visit Ryan's family. We saw lots of cars and snowplows off the road. Even though our tires were totally bald, we made it! At the Achatz abode, we survived 5 little girls, 2 babies, 4 couples, 2 teenagers, gobs of gifts, and Wii Rock Band that made for general craziness!
Thus ends 2008, and we wont' miss it! We were SO blessed to be married in February, but the year brought lots of challenges, too. With my illness, big employment/money/car/everything else problems, we are looking forward to better times in 2009 and are glad we have each other to brave the storms with. We want to say thanks to our family and friends who have helped us so much. We love you!
